ABOUT LAURA
Laura Brown is a proud Toledo native who began her education at St. Pius X parochial school before her family settled nearby in Blissfield, Michigan. Even as a high-school student, she showed a natural gift for numbers and accounting. That talent carried her into her first job at the Hathaway House restaurant and later into accounting and administrative roles with The Toledo Club, OmniSource, Northern Ohio Investment Company, and the collections department at Nicholas Financial.
When she became a mother, Laura chose to step away from the traditional workforce so she could focus on raising her four sons. During those years she also launched her own calligraphy business, Signature Scribe & Silhouettes, blending creativity with the careful attention to detail she had always brought to her work.
Community has always been close to Laura’s heart. In Michigan she served on a township planning commission and as a precinct delegate. After returning to the area, she poured her energy into ministry as Coordinator of Evangelization & Outreach at Holy Trinity in Assumption.
Today she continues to serve as a volunteer at Rosary Cathedral in Toledo and remains an engaged resident of Spencer Township, where she is helping neighbors navigate complex zoning issues that affect communities across the region. Through this hands-on involvement, Laura saw firsthand the need for COMMON SENSE, greater transparency, and the courage to ask the hard questions that too often go unasked. That realization inspired her to step forward and run for Lucas County Commissioner—so she can bring the same commitment, common sense, and care she has shown her family, HER WORKand community to the people of Lucas County.
